Terms & Conditions


The below listed terms and conditions govern the use of the School’s website as well as binding the Student and the School when the Student enrols on a Course.




1.1.“School” is YourEnglish Language School, 29/30 Usher’s Quay, Dublin 8, Ireland.


1.2.“Student” is any person who avails of the services of Your English Language School at any time and at any place.


1.3.“Course” is any language service provided by Your English Language School.


1.4.“Teaching Time” is the hours during which the student is taught.


1.5.“Accommodation” is housing which may be organised by the School for the Student to live in.


1.6.“Airport transfer” includes bus, taxi, hackney cab, private car or other form of transport which the School may organise for the Student to travel to and from Dublin Airport.


1.7.“Irish host family stay” is accommodation organised by the School for the Student where the Student may live and eat with a native Irish family during the duration of their course with the School.


1.8.“Full-time classes” are classes which usually take place during the hours of 9AM and 1PM every weekday from Monday to Friday for a period of between 1 and 48 weeks per calendar year.


1.9.“Part-time classes” are classes which take usually place during the evening hours of a particular weekday every week for a period of 12 weeks.


1.10.“Junior courses” are course available only to Students aged from 12 to 18 years.


1.11.“One-to-one classes” are classes held between one teacher and one Student.


1.12.“Tuition” includes the services provided by the teachers of Your English Language School.


2.Enrolment and Tuition Fees


2.1. The placement of a Student in a particular class level will be made by the School on the basis of a written grading test and a short interview.  The Student must present themselves at the School for completion of said grading test and interview at the times scheduled by the School for same.


2.2.The School’s decision as to the appropriate level of study for the Student is final and the Student hereby accepts and acknowledges that: refund of tuition fees will be given if the Student is dissatisfied with the allocated level of study; and


2.2.2.while the School will use its reasonable endeavours to accommodate the Student in relation to study level, any change to the Student’s study level will be at the School’s absolute discretion


2.2.3.The School accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage which the Student may incur as a result of the decision of the School regarding his/her level of study.  The Student hereby accepts and acknowledges same. 


2.3.The course fees include tuition, a set of course materials and a Certificate of course completion.


2.4.Course fees are listed on the school’s website and are subject to change without any notice. 


2.5.Availability of all courses is subject to minimum enrolment.  Where the minimum enrolment for a Course is not reached, such course may be cancelled by the School and the School accepts no liability or responsibility for any loss or damage which the Student may incur as a result of such cancellation and the Student hereby accepts same.


2.6.To reserve a place on a particular course offered by the School, the prospective Student must email the School at and place an advance payment with the School if such place is available on the preferred course.


2.7.The balance of the payment must then be made 28 days before arrival. Failure to do so may lead to the cancellation of the Student’s place.


2.8.Cancellation by a Student must be made by way of email to  If such cancellation by a Student occurs subsequent to the start of the Student’s course, no refund of fees paid is possible.  If such cancellation by the Student occurs prior to the start of the Student’s course, fees paid will be refunded to the Student, subject to a reasonable administration fee.


2.9.Further detailed terms and conditions governing the various types of courses offered by the school are included in separate documents available from the School office at 29/30 Usher’s Quay, Dublin 8, Ireland.

3.1.The School accepts payments by bank transfer, Visa, PayPal, Irish cheque or in cash. 


3.2. All transfer fees must be paid by the Student.


3.3. When PayPal or Visa is selected as the form of payment, the School will pass on to the student the transfer fees charged by the money transfer provider (currently with PayPal, the charge varies between 3.4% and 4.9% + 35c, depending on country of origin) and the Student hereby accepts same.

 4.Irish Public Holidays


4.1.There are no classes held on Irish public holidays and classes scheduled for these days may be cancelled at the discretion of the School.  The School will make all reasonable endeavours to reschedule any affected classes however there is no refund for classes cancelled on these days and the Student hereby accepts same.


There are 9 public holidays in Ireland each year.

•Easter Monday (First Monday following Easter Sunday)

•First Monday in May

•First Monday in June 

•First Monday in August

•Last Monday in October

•Christmas Day (25 December)

•St. Stephen's Day (26 December)



5.Class Size &  Student Age


5.1.The School confirms that there are no more than 15 students in adult classes and no more then 12 in junior classes.


5.2.Junior courses are only available to students aged 12 to 18. Adult courses are available to students 16 years and upwards.


6.Health & Insurance


6.1.Students must arrange their own insurance against all costs, expenses and claims that might arise due to accident, illness, loss of baggage, personal effects or money.


6.2.Any student who participates in any sport whether arranged by the School or otherwise which involves a risk to their health or safety or a risk of personal injury does so at their own risk and acknowledges that they will not have any claim against the School for any personal injury, loss or damage arising from their involvement in such activity.  Any student under the age of eighteen years must have a Waiver signed by their parent or guardian before they participate in any such activity.


6.3.Each Student is responsible for all of his/her medical bills as and when they arise. The School accepts no responsibility or liability for any medical costs incurred by Students or any loss or damage to the Student flowing from any such medical costs and the Student hereby accepts same. 


6.4.The Student is obliged to inforom the School in writing and of any medical problems, issues or allergies Student may suffer from at the time of booking.  The School reserves the right not to allow on the course a student suffering from any illness, medical condition, or mental or physical disability which has not been disclosed.


6.5.EU citizens holding a European Health Insurance Card are entitled to basic medical care in Ireland. However, we strongly advise all our Students to take out a travel and health insurance for the duration of their stay in Ireland and the School does not accept any responsibility or liability for any damage or loss which the Student may suffer or incur as a result of not taking out such insurance and the Student accepts same.  


7.Absence and cancellation


7.1.Students are obliged to attend all classes scheduled by the School and to observe the timetables set in relation to their Course.  The School will make all reasonable endavours to set and maintain a reasonable timetable but such timetable is set at the sole discretion of the School and the Student accepts same. 


7.2.The School accepts no responsibility or liability if the Student misses any teaching time and further accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage which the Student may incur as a result of such missed teaching time.  There is no obligation on the School to reschedule classes or to organise the attendance of any Student at another class to make up for any missed teaching time and the Student accepts same.


7.3.The School will only issue course a completion certificate if attendance and performance has been satisfactory in the School’s opinion.  The Student notes that any missed classes or teaching time may have a detrimental effect on the Student’s attendance record and the School accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage which the Student may suffer as a result.


7.4.The School is under no obligation to refund any Tuition fees on the basis of Student’s absence, irrespective of reasons for the absence.


7.5.Absence of teachers:


In the event of a teacher not arriving in class due to illness, accident or other unforeseen circumstances the School will do its utmost to find a replacement teacher and in the event that this is not possible the particular class or lesson will be either rescheduled or cancelled. In case the class is cancelled the fees will be refunded on a pro rata basis.


8.Photos & Footage


8.1.Photographs and video footage taken by the school during the classes and social activities organized by the school can be used on the school’s website, printed promotional materials and social networks for the purpose of the school’s promotion and teachers' training unless the student specifically objects and withdraws their consent to same in writing. Students will not be paid for the time involved in the taking of such photographs or video footage and will assign to the School any rights to royalties they may have arising from taking of these photographs or video footage. The copyright to all photographs and video footage belongs to the School.


9.Host family stay


9.1.The school acts only as an intermediary between its students and travel organisations and between students and host families. Unless and to the extent caused by the school’s negligence, the School cannot be held responsible for any delay or accident during a journey or for any incident which may happen during the student’s stay with the host family. The School will, however, endeavour to defend the student’s interests in the event of breach of contract on the part of the travel organisation or the host family.


9.2.A week stay with a host family starts on Sunday and finishes on the following Sunday. Other arrangements may be offered at school discretion and might be subject to additional fees.


9.3.An accommodation booking fee must be paid in advance by the Student in order to book accommodation.  The booking fee is non-refundable. The accommodation fees must be paid in full two weeks prior to arrival.


9.4.All host family houses are located on a Dublin public transport route with a direct connection to the city centre and the School.


9.5.Accommodation is not owned by the School the individual providers may change their own terms and conditions at any time without notice. The Host Families accommodation service is designed to support our Students during their stay.


9.6.Any request by a Student to change Accommodation after arrival will be dealt with at the School’s discretion and subject to availability.  The School will make all reasonable endeavours to address any issues the Student may have with a host family but same will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis and the School accepts no responsibility or liability for same.


9.7.In the interest of safety of our students, the School operates a strict curfew policy – students under the age of 18 must be at home by 9:30 in the evening.  Each Student accepts such curfew on enrolment in a course and will abide by same.  The Student also accepts that failure to adhere to such curfew may result in expulsion from a course and expulsion from the Host Family Stay.  Upon such occurring, the Student’s parents or legal guardian will be informed immediately and the Student may be required to leave.  The School accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage, financial or otherwise, which the Student may incur as a result of such breach of curfew.


10.Airport transfers


10.1.Airport transfers are included with some courses. Where an airport transfer is not included with a course it may be booked as an additional item subject to availability.


10.2.Airport transfer on arrival must be booked and paid for at least five days prior to arrival.


10.3.The School must be advised in writing of the date and time of arrival as well as flight number as soon as possible and in any event not later than 24 hours prior to the arrival of the student.  Should the Student not inform the School of same, the School accepts no responsibility or liability for such Airport Transfer being late as a result.


10.4.Where flights are delayed and or cancelled, the school should be informed immediately to allow us to reschedule transfers.  Where we are unable to reschedule transfers due to lack of notice, students will be required to arrange and pay for taxi transport to their host family.


10.5.Standard airport transfer fees, as listed on the School’s website,  apply for arrivals and departures between 8AM and 11PM Irish Time. Airport transfers outside these times can be arranged but additional fees might apply.


11.Damages and Discipline 

11.1. We expect all our students to actively participate in their classes and any other activities run by the school and the Student accepts same. 

11.2. Punctuality. Students are required to arrive in class on time. Teachers have a right to refuse admission when a student is late more than 15 minutes. In such a case the student needs to wait until break time to join the class. 

11.3.Students must treat other participants, school staff and all the members of their host families with courtesy and respect. This also includes obeying the rules of the house where they are staying.

11.4.Students are liable for any damage caused by them and payment for such damage must be made immediately.

11.5.Each student indemnifies the School against any claims that might arise from any act or omission of such student giving rise to a claim for personal injuries, loss and damage by a third party.

11.6.Under no circumstances are Students under the age of 18 permitted to drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes or take any intoxicating substances.  Such activities are prohibited under Irish Law for those under the age of 18.

11.7.We reserve the right to expel both junior and adult students who do not abide by our school policies or who participate in any activities that the School deems unacceptable.  If a Student under the age of 18 does not abide by the School policies, the decision to expel may be taken by the School and in such case, the Student’s parents or legal guardians will be notified immediately.  The School accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage which the Student or the Student’s parents or legal guardians may incur as a result of such expulsion.


11.8.Should such situation occur in relation to an under age student, parents are responsible for arranging accommodation and rescheduling flight home. No refund will be given. 


11.9.Also where damage/theft of property of the host family or to any other property is caused by a student, the student’s parents will be responsible for the cost of any such damage and payment should be made immediately.




12.1.Irish or UK law will always take precedence and the School is not permitted to offer advice on visa application. The School accepts no responsibility or liability for any decisions made by embassies or immigration officials regarding the granting, refusal or extension of visas.  On arrival at the School, all students must present their passports to check they have the appropriate visa and right to study.


13.Events outside the School’s control


13.1.The School will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of its obligations in relation to the Student’s Course or Accommodation that is caused by events outside the School’s reasonable control (Force Majeure Event)


13.2.A Force Majeure Event includes any act, event, non-occurrence, omission or accident beyond the School’s reasonable control and includes, in particular (without limitation), the following:


13.2.1.strikes or labour disputes;


13.2.2.civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war; or, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster; or


13.2.4.impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport; 


13.2.5.impossibility of the use of public or private telecommunications networks.




14.1.The School will not be held responsible or liable for loss, damage or injury to persons or property.


15.Governing law


15.1.These Conditions shall be governed by Irish Law and do not affect a Student’s statutory rights under Irish Law.


16.Complaints Procedure


16.1.A system is in place in the School to deal with any complaints. It is hoped that anything can be dealt with by discussing the issue with a member of staff. If a problem cannot be resolved at this stage then a meeting will be arranged with the school manager / director. - Language School in Dublin, Ireland
